Keep your Driving record clean.
Don't let the ticket get on your record.
Traffic tickets can do a great deal of damage to your driving record. Please keep the tickets off your record if at all possible. Below we have mapped out a few ways to keep your driving record at its best to lower insurance cost.
Back in October 2002 my wife received a traffic ticket for speeding. She was traveling at 54 MPH in a 50 MPH speed limit. At first I could not believe the cops would ticket you for going over the speed limit by 4 MPH but it happened.
I asked her to go pay the ticket and ask for deferred judification or take a driving course. However to my suprise she just payed the ticket outright to save $50.00. This was her worst mistake. Since that time we had our insurance increase $40.00 per month for a year and one half until we had to switch insurance companies because they considered her at as a high risk driver.
We have had good driving since this incident to bring our insurance down some but this still sits on her driving record as we speak. I recently 07/15 received a traffic ticket for going 14 MPH over the speed limit. However I went to the court house asked to get enrolled into the deferred judification plan.
It was so easy I went on my day off and talked with a court reporter and she had me sign a paper. I paid the ticket upfront plus $50 dollars and received deferred judification. Now so long as I do not get a ticket for the next 4 months this will be compleatly off my record. I also could have took a defensive driving course but I have done that before so I choose the deferred judification.
The defensive driving course is a great and useful tool every driver should take. This will lower your insurance cost and help keep you and others safe and alert on the roadways. In conclusion avoid getting that ticket on your driving record if at all possible. It cost me $50.00 more upfront but over 3 years we saved $1,390. What a deal. I hope this article works out great for you.
